Another way to get traffic to your consulting site is to look for sites that offer related information or products (not competitors) and then offer to put links to their site on your site if they will reciprocate.  The search engines look favorably at sites that have multiple links to them providing that the links are related your consulting business.  For example a link from a site that sold business books would be considered a “good” link; a link from a costume store would not be looked at favorably by the search engines.

Layout is the Key

A Consultant website must have an organized way of scattering its content. It should be carefully laid out so that the visitor can easily recognize one feature from another.  Having everything packed on a single web page is never a good idea.  This can potentially overwhelm the reader that he or she may miss out on the important information that must be communicated. Moreover, ads (if you decide to have them) should be placed strategically within the website so that it can still maintain its professional appearance despite the ads.
